In Memory of Don Douglas (1931 - 2010)

We recently lost our good friend, a good father, and a great bluegrass musician Don Douglas.  He unexpectedly left this earth to play in God's bluegrass band in heaven.  He will be missed.

Don is the founder and manager of The Carefree Highway Band.  He plays a strong rhythm guitar, and is an experienced sound engineer. He played with and managed the renown Scenic Route group before forming The Carefree Highway Band.  Don has founded and directed many bluegrass festivals in the southwest and as far north as Montana.  In 1994 Don was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award at Blythe, California for his many years in bluegrass music as a festival coordinator, promoter and band leader. He does a lot of the arranging, and has a very professional approach to bluegrass music.
